As the rebels join forces with other sectors, ISAN plans their destruction by using someone they don’t suspect at the rebel home base. A traitor within.

Interview with Mary Ting
What are five sci-fi books or movies that have influenced you?
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Star Wars
Legend by Marie Lu
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Are you a plotter or a pantser? Why? (plotters plan novels in advance, pantsers discover the plot while writing)
Most pantser. I have an idea of begging, middle, and end, and some of the characters, but I like to see where my imagination takes me with each chapter.
- Why do you write science-fiction and fantasy ?
I love this genre. There is so much room for story development and possibilities.
- How did the idea for the ISAN series come about?
I like to challenge myself. Writing about the future is something I hadn’t done. If I could, I want to live during the time when there are flying cars and with high-tech far beyond what we have currently. I also wanted to write a story about kick-butt girl assassins. What almost destroyed the world, also gave women super powers.
- Who's your favorite character in the ISAN series and why?
I have to say all of them. Though the main protagonists are Ava and Rhett, the readers have told me that they love every single character. They’re all unique in their special way. And in book 3, GENES, the story is told from multiply points of view. All the characters are important.
